Kris Hofmann

Originally from Austria, Kris moved to London in 2004 to study Graphic Design at Camberwell College of Art. She made the move to animation during her MA at the Royal College.

Her graduation film, Breakfast, was very well received, has been screened at numerous international festivals and led to the Austrian Film Council funding her second stop-motion film, Screwed Up.

In 2009 Kris was awarded a Victoria & Albert Musseum Illustration Award for her work on Anna Kavan’s novel Ice, and she has recently completed a number of commissions, both moving and still, including work for Granta and Madrid Fashion Week.  Breakfast has been picked up by a major German charitable organization and given a voice over by Alexander Hacke, singer and guitarist for cult band Einstürzende Neubauten and probably the coolest man in Germany.

Kris collects and carefully crafts beautiful objects that tell their own stories.

You can listen to an interview with Kris here, where she talks of her influences and ambitions.
